18-year-old dies after car falls off Delhi bridge Posted: 29 Sep 2011 12:33 PM PDT An 18-year-old law student was killed after he lost control of his car and the vehicle fell off a railway overbridge in south Delhi early on Thursday, police said. Mrinaldeep Singh, a resident of Noida pursuing a five-year law course from OP Jindal Global University in Haryana, was returning home from a pub in Nehru Place when his car fell off the overbridge on Ring Road in Ashram area of east Delhi. |

Man robs Rs 30 lakh to elope with girlfriend Posted: 29 Sep 2011 06:50 AM PDT The Juhu police yesterday arrested an accountant working with a private firm for robbing Rs 30 lakh, which he was entrusted with to deposit in a bank. The accused Ketan Shah (36) is a resident of LT Marg area and works as an accountant in a book manufacturing company, located at Vile Parle (West). Last Friday, Shah's employer gave him Rs 30 lakh to deposit at the State Bank of India's Vile Parle branch. |

Man arrested for rape escapes from hospital Posted: 29 Sep 2011 04:43 AM PDT Yogesh Raut, the runaway prime accused in the Nayana Pujari rape and murder case, is giving the city police sleepless nights. Top police officials have expressed the fear that Raut may try to strike again if not arrested soon. Raut, who was arrested in connection with the rape and murder of software profession Nayana Pujari, was also arrested a year later for the gang rape and murder of a 22-year-old vegetable vendor, Vishala Mandal, in 2009. |
No newspapers for Hyderabad as hawkers join Telangana stir Posted: 29 Sep 2011 04:12 AM PDT The twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad in Andhra Pradesh on Thursday went without newspapers as hawkers joined the ongoing general strike for a separate Telangana state. No newspapers could reach the readers as the hawkers stayed away from distribution of papers. English, Telugu, Urdu and Hindi newspapers were missing from bookshops and newspaper stands across the state capital. |
