A US diplomatic cable leaked by whistleblower website WikiLeaks quotes Prime Minister Manmohan Singh as saying that in 2006, he had reached a "non-territorial solution" on Kashmir with then Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf.

10 infants dead in 48 hours at Andhra hospital

10 babies have died within 48 hours inside the neonatal intensive care unit of Kurnool's General Hospital. Kurnool is about 212 kilometres from the state capital Hyderabad. The deaths occurred on Wednesday and Thursday. The reason: the hospital was simply not equipped to deal with the rush of low-birthweight babies who needed critical care. There were 20 beds whereas the demand was for over 30. Only two ventilators were functioning. Two more have been under repair.


Six DU professors charged in Mayapuri radiation case

Delhi Police has filed a chargesheet against six Delhi University teachers in the Mayapuri radiation leak incident that killed one and affected 10 people last year. Six professors from the Chemistry Department have been charged under section 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life), 338 (causing grievous hurt by act endangering life), 304A (causing death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
