| Jairam meets Mamata again to gain support for Land Acquisition Bill Posted: 04 Sep 2011 02:47 AM PDT Union Minister for Rural Development Jairam Ramesh, met West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Bannerjee for the second time over the draft Land Acquisition and Rehabilitation Bill. Mamata had earlier opposed the earlier versions of the bill but it seems that she is happy with the new draft. The new Land Bill is expected to be put up before the union cabinet in the coming week, who will then place it before Parliament. |
