One killed, three injured as Nevada plane crashes Posted: A small plane crashed and burst into flames on a street in a southern Nevada residential neighborhood on Monday, killing one person and badly injuring three others, authorities said. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Sgt. John Sheahan said two males and two females were aboard the single-engine Piper Cherokee when it crashed in Henderson, just south of Las Vegas. He said it was a miracle no one on the ground was injured.

Meet Edward, world’s shortest man Posted: A 24-year-old Colombian man has officially become the world's shortest man. Edward Nino Hernandez has been certified as the world's shortest living mobile male by Guinness World Records, measuring just 70.21 centimetres (27.46 inches). The previous titleholder was He Pingping of China, who was an inch or so taller and died on the 13 March.
Rice 'ordered Bush to stay out of Washington' after 9/11 Posted: Condoleezza Rice "ordered" then US President George W Bush to stay out of Washington after the 9/11 attacks before hanging up the phone, the former national security advisor has revealed in a documentary interview. In a heated exchange, Rice had to argue with President Bush in Florida - who wanted to "be at the helm of ship" – not to return to the White House as it was a "potential terrorist target".

On Facebook, young Muslims turn away from Islam Posted: A handful of Pakistani Muslim youths are beginning to question the existence of God and in the process giving up Islam to become atheists. Still a small number, the trend seems to be telling of pressures that the image of militant Islam has had on them. A Facebook group has been floated for Pakistan's agnostics and atheists by Hazrat NaKhuda, a former Pakistani Muslim.

American Muslims ask, will we ever belong? Posted: For nine years after the attacks of Sept. 11, many American Muslims made concerted efforts to build relationships with non-Muslims, to make it clear they abhor terrorism, to educate people about Islam and to participate in interfaith service projects. They took satisfaction in the observations by many scholars that Muslims in America were more successful and assimilated than Muslims in Europe.
