NASA's new space capsule to be ready for test flights by 2013 Posted: Friday, October 1, 2010 NASA's Space Shuttle replacement, the Orion spacecraft, is anticipated to be ready for test flights by 2013. Orion, part of the original Constellation program proposal, would be used in a NASA initiative to return astronauts to the moon. However, United States president Barack Obama cancelled the program in his 2011 budget. He instead advised NASA to focus on a manned mission to an asteroid, and then to Mars. More... |

9/11 health care bill passed in US House of Representatives Posted: Thursday, September 30, 2010 The United States House of Representatives on Wednesday approved US$7.4 billion to pay for the medical bills of workers sickened or injured by the September 11, 2001 attacks (9/11 attacks) on the World Trade Center in New York City, New York. The bill was passed by a vote of 268–160. Thirteen Republicans joined the Democrats in supporting the bill, while three Democrats opposed the measure. Similar legislation is pending in the US Senate. US undergraduate commits suicide after 'outing' via webcast Posted: Thursday, September 30, 2010 Tyler Clementi, eighteen, a freshman at Rutgers University in the United States, jumped off the George Washington Bridge last Wednesday after roommates broadcast his same-sex encounters online.
