David Miliband said he had to step back "because of the simple fact that Ed is my brother" and had beaten him to the top job. |

The members in the governing council halved, but the biggest omission was Sunil Gavaskar. And talking exclusive to NDTV's Vikram Chandra, Gavaskar made it clear that it wasn't the honorary position that dissuaded him from joining the IPL governing council, in fact the BCCI didn't even extended the courtesy of informing him that his services were no longer needed. |

Naxals to release hostage policemen? Posted: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh has said that Maoists are releasing the four policemen they had taken hostage. He said they will be released soon. Earlier on Tuesday night, the Naxals had extended by 24 hours the deadline set for the release of the four policemen. The Chhattisgarh government has been negotiating with the Maoists on the safe return of the hostages. |
