Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar was today slapped by a man at the New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) centre in New Delhi. The minister was attacked as he was leaving the premises after attending a literary function.

Friends and relatives of Pranay Singh, a second semester B E (E&C) student of PES Institute of Technology, staged a protest in the college campus on Wednesday. Pranay had committed suicide in his hostel room on Tuesday, as he allegedly could not handle the academic pressure.The students were upset over media reports in Patna which claimed Pranay was a drug addict and involved in a triangular love affair.

"Had there been a bus attendant in the school bus, this tragic incident would have never claimed our beloved Viraj," said Ritesh Parmar, uncle of the deceased 9-year-old. The boy had stuck his head out of his bus window to wave goodbye to a friend, when it started moving; Viraj's head rammed against metal board, smashing it and causing him to bleed to his death within minutes.

Parents kidnap 20-year-old daughter from High Court

In the name of honour, a 20-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped by her family members from inside the premises of Delhi High Court on Tuesday at around 2 pm. Vinay, the woman's husband, alleged that Soni Singh has been kidnapped by her parents who had earlier threatened to kill them. The woman had filed a petition in Delhi High Court seeking police protection and had come for the hearing when she was abducted.

A doctor tried to commit suicide by jumping off the hostel building at Lady Hardinge Medical College in Connaught Place of New Delhi Wednesday morning. Nasir Hussain (35), who hails from Karnataka, slipped into coma after receiving grievous injuries.

Waving goodbye to a friend proved fatal for nine-year old Viraj Devendra Parmar, student of Shri Vallabh Ashram English Medium School in Sion. Viraj was killed when his head banged against a public hoarding, as he was leaning out of his school bus window to say goodbye to a friend.
