Dumb thieves forgot to put petrol in car! Posted: Two thieves in Britain proved they were too dumb to be doing what they were after they were captured on CCTV pushing their car to a petrol pump as they forgot to tank it up before a robbery Rose Devlin, 59, and Denise Egan, 52, stole 400 pounds of alcohol from a supermarket in Manchester city and bundled it into the back of their car. But they realised their quick exit was foiled due to not having petrol, the Daily Mail reported. They were forced to push the vehicle to the supermarket's petrol station to fill up before heading away. All this was captured on CCTV and the robbers were eventually arrested.
Two porn sites sue Internet address regulator over web address Posted: Two major Internet pornography firms have sued the net''s address regulator, Icann, over introducting the .xxx suffix in web address Manwin Licensing and Digital Playground have also filed a case against ICM Registry, which runs the new top-level domain name (TLD), the BBC reports. Manwin claimed that ICM's annual registration fees of about 60 dollars per address was 10 times the fee charged for other similar top-level domain names. It further said ICM "generated fake comments in support of its application" and that it has "knowingly sold domain names to persons and entities who are known domain name speculators". It also criticised the bidding process ICM for the .xxx registry, and said the organization failed to conduct "proper economic studies" to support the creation of new suffix. ICM, who had earlier faced opposition from Icann(Internet corporation for assigned names and numbers) over the introduction of .xxx suffix, denounced those claims as baseless. "They also show an apparent lack of understanding of the Icann process and the rigorous battle we went through with Icann over eight years in full public scrutiny to gain approval, " ICM Registry president Stuart Lawley said. ICM said it planned to launch the suffix in 2012 and hoped it would become a "trusted brand... extolling responsible and safe behaviour.
Former Australian MP guilty of sex crimes against 12-year-old girl Posted: A former Australian MP has been found guilty of sex crimes against a 12-year-old girl prostituted by her own mother in Tasmania According to the Herald Sun. Terry Martin, a former mayor of Glenorchy, has been jailed for having sex with a person under the age of 17 and for producing child exploitation material. Martin was one of 100 men who had sex with the 12-year-old girl prostituted by her own mother and her mother''s partner Gary John Devine in September, 2009, the Mercury reports. He admitted having oral sex with the girl on two occasions, and also admitted that he took sexually explicit photographs of her. Martin, however, denied he was guilty of any crime because he believed the girl was 18, as advertised in the newspaper ad he responded to. According to the report, Martin told police he 'couldn''t think of anything more disgusting' than having sex with a 12-year-old.
Woman says horny ghost gropes her like an octopus Posted: A 73-year-old British woman claims that she is being haunted by a poltergeist who gropes her, as she tries to sleep Doris Birch, of Herne Bay, began experiencing the nocturnal disturbances in her flat four months ago. "It's like an octopus. I was lying in bed when I felt this creepy pair of hands," the Daily Mail quoted Birch as saying. "I kicked frantically and it went away. "I've tried sleeping without the duvet. But it started shaking my mattress. "I even threw the mattress off the bed and bought a new one but it has made no difference. "This is very creepy and is giving me the jitters. It's harassing me. "I need to call in the Ghostbusters.' According to the Canterbury Times, the grandmother lives alone, and has said that she has consulted a vicar, who believes the disturbances are being caused by a 'lost spirit'. The former nursing home assistant has had a promise from a local husband-and-wife ghost hunting team to send the poltergeist packing. Spirit medium Ray Herne says he will draw the ghost into him while his wife Beryl will capture it in a "vortex of light" and send it to the "other side". Methodist Minister Hugh-Nigel Sheehan of the nearby United Church confirmed he had been approached by Birch but had been unable to help. Poltergeist activity has often been believed to be the work of malicious ghosts. The word poltergeist comes from the German words poltern "to make a noise" and geist "spirit". The term itself literally means "noisy ghost" and victims often report inanimate objects being picked up and thrown, noises such as knocking, rapping and human voices, or even physical attacks.

Fans strip in support of China's Weiwei Posted: Supporters of the Chinese artist have begun a new campaign to back him by posting nude pictures of themselves on the Internet Ai Weiwei fans have again rallied behind the outspoken Chinese artist after he revealed he is being investigated on pornography charges -- by posting naked pictures of themselves online. We are with Wei: A girl checks the blog where Weiwei's (left) fans have posted their nude pictures. pics/afp Supporters of Ai -- who disappeared into custody for 81 days earlier this year -- this month donated nearly nine million yuan (Rs 7.4 crore) to the artist after he was handed a huge bill for alleged back taxes. Now, his fans are taking a different tack to counter a police investigation into photos of the 54-year-old in which he and a group of women pose nude, sitting on traditional wooden chairs in the middle of a bare white room. Different route Dozens of supporters have posted naked or part-naked photos of themselves on a blog page titled 'Ai Wei Fans' Nudity -- Listen, Chinese government: Nudity is not Pornography'. Some of them are full-frontal and revealing. Others are more discreet, with pictures of the artist or the logo of state television CCTV placed across their private parts. One man poses as sculptor Auguste Rodin's famous Thinker statue, one emulates Michelangelo's David, and yet another is sitting naked on a toilet, reading what looks like an iPad. Ai, an artist of international renown whose vocal rights activism has irked the Chinese government, was taken into secret police detention in April and released in June. 'Shocked' He denies the charge of tax evasion, calling it politically motivated. "When they detained me, they said 'this is pornography', but I just laughed, I said, 'do you know what is pornography?'" he said. "Nudity is not pornography." He said he had not taken the charge seriously until his assistant was pulled in for questioning last week about his pictures. "This is completely ridiculous. Our nation today is so corrupt, with so much sex, but they think nudity photos on the Internet is pornography," he said. Ai's problems with the authorities started when he began investigating the collapse of schools in the 2008 Sichuan earthquake and a 2010 fire at a Shanghai high-rise that killed dozens. The artist caused another stir at the weekend when he published online the mobile numbers of four prominent figures in protest at blog posts and articles they had written about him, accusing them of trying to damage his reputation. 1,13,000 The number of followers artist Ai Weiwei has on Twitter

French girl raped, killed by 17-year-old Posted: France is reeling after a boy raped and murdered a 13-yr-old girl at a chic boarding school while conditionally freed on charges of rape a year ago The rape and murder of a 13-year-old schoolgirl has led to uproar in France after it was revealed that the alleged teenage killer was admitted to an up-scale boarding school despite a previous rape charge. The burned body of Agnes Marin was found in woodland near the College-lycee Cevenol International in central France on Friday. Tributes: A woman pays her respect to Agnes Marin at an informal memorial placed around the town near the school. pic/afp A 17-year-old boy, identified only as Mathieu, was arrested after he allegedly confessed to 'raping and burning' Agnes -- after luring her into woodland on Wednesday by suggesting they pick mushrooms together. 'More vigilant' Investigating police have said the murder was particularly brutal, with the killer using a number of objects to kill Agnes. But the girl's family, the French public and education and legal authorities reacted in horror when it was revealed Mathieu was conditionally freed on charges of rape less than a year ago. He was jailed for the rape of a minor in 2010, released under supervision after four months. The Marin family have accused the school of knowing Mathieu's criminal history but allowing him to become a pupil anyway -- an allegation the school denies. Agnes's devastated mother, Paola said that the murder "could have been avoided with a little less negligence", while father Frederic said, "The school should have been a bit more vigilant." But the school, in Le-Chambon-sur-Lignon, is denying specific knowledge of Mathieu's past -- admitting that it knew of his criminal past but not what he was convicted of. The school's head, Philippe Bauwens, said, "If I had known, I would not have accepted him in our establishment, because we're not equipped." The school said the tragedy was the result of failures in the legal system. But prosecutor Jean-Yves Coquillat has defended the legal process, saying psychiatric evaluations said Mathieu could be "rehabilitated and did not show signs of being dangerous". Release conditions Furthermore, the boy was set free under strict conditions - that he was treated by a psychiatrist, as well as a psychologist at the school. Coquillat's comments suggested that the school -- at the very least the school-appointed psychologist -- must have had prior knowledge of Mathieu's history. But Anne-Sylvie Debard, a member of the school's board of governors, said the problem lay with a lack of communication between state departments.
