Parents donate eyes of two-and-a-half month old boy Posted: 31 Aug 2011 08:34 AM PDT July 15 will remain an unforgettable day in the lives of Chinchwad residents Vikas and Vaibhavi More. The couple had to deal with the death of their two-and-half-month-old baby, and yet they steeled their hearts and performed an act of remarkable courage and kindness. Married for nine years, the couple had got a baby boy after years of treatment. Though their loss was great, they made the tough decision to donate their boy's eyes immediately after his death. |

Keep army land for our men, not President: Retired servicemen Posted: 31 Aug 2011 06:39 AM PDT A set of retired army men in the city is a disgruntled lot. That President Pratibha Devisingh Patil's retirement home is proposed to come up on army land in Khadki has vexed the ex-servicemen, who say army land should be reserved for former defence personnel who do not own homes. "We don't have any grievances against the President, but this is army land and it should be reserved for it," said Lt Col Suresh Patil, (Retd) of the Green Thumb group. |
Dead? Alive? Abducted? Where is our son? Posted: 31 Aug 2011 04:35 AM PDT It wasn't a simple case of hit-and-run, but a hit-and-run -away-with-the-victim. Or was it? Over two months ago, 17-year-old Nasir Ahmed, son of Shakeel and Shama, was riding to Trombay station when a car rammed his bike, injuring him. Nasir has been missing since. It is unclear what has happened to him. |
