Authorities have discovered inside a sports bag a Moroccan youth who was trying to illegally get to Barcelona in the trunk of a relative's vehicle.

The man was nabbed Tuesday when officers who were searching the vehicles that had been driven onto the ferry plying the route between this Spanish city in North Africa and mainland Spain, the Civil Guard announced in a communique.

The Moroccan family that owns the automobile was intending to travel on the ferry to Barcelona.

The auto, which was occupied by a Moroccan man who lives in Barcelona, his wife and a son, had the trunk filled with luggage and an officer observed "a slight movement" in one of the bags, whereupon he asked the driver to open it.

The Civil Guard officer verified that a "completely contorted" young man was inside the bag, had to be helped out and showed "symptoms of disorientation, nervousness and agitated breathing".

Also, the young man was "completely soaked in sweat, a result of the small space where he was, crammed inside the sports bag" without any ventilation or fresh air.

Nevertheless, the man did not require medical assistance, according to the Civil Guard.

The man is a relative of the driver of the vehicle. Both men could face charges.

US charges 72 people of involvement in global online child porn

Posted:

The US has charged 72 people for their alleged involvement in an online child pornography network used to share photos and videos of sexual abuse.

Fifty-two of those charged have already been arrested as part of the investigation, called 'Operation Delego', which US launched 20 months ago, the BBC reports.

Senior US officials said some 600 users of a site known as 'Dreamboard' had been investigated.

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said that the 20 others charged as part of the US probe remain at large, and are known only by their Internet pseudonyms, 'Demented dream'.

Napolitano described the amount of pornographic material seized as equivalent to 16,000 DVDs.

Authorities have arrested people in 13 other countries that include Canada, Denmark, Ecuador, France, Germany, Hungary, Kenya, the Netherlands, the Philippines, Qatar, Serbia, Sweden and Switzerland, the report said.

The US Department of Justice said the members of Dreamboard traded graphic images and videos of adults molesting children aged 12 and under, often violently.

The members of the site created a massive private library of images of child sexual abuse.

A justice department statement said that out of the 52 individuals arrested, 13 have pleaded guilty, including two bulletin-board administrators in Canada and France.

Dreamboard was created in 2008 and shut down in early 2011 when it became evident the US government had launched a probe.

The charges being handed to members of the website carry sentences ranging from 20 years to life imprisonment.

Oz radio host apologises for anti-Ganga, anti-India remarks

An Australian radio show host has apologised to the Hindu community over his alleged derogatory remarks on India and her holy river the Ganges.

'Australia's Got Talent' judge Kyle Sandilands recently termed the Ganges as 'a junkyard' and India as 'a s---hole'.

Rajan Zed, president of the Universal Society of Hinduism, pushed the Australian Media and Communications Authority to take 'appropriate action' over the vulgar remark.

Certainly reeling under the heat, now the 'Hour of Power Fox FM' favourite has decisively apologised for his uncouth remarks, claiming that he loves Indians.

"I'm apologising. Anyone that's Indian that listens to this show knows that I love Indians ... I don't discriminate. I love everyone," the Courier Mail quoted him as saying.

"I just made the mistake that the river, which, to me, looks polluted, I said it was a junkyard and I did not realise that it was holy," he added.

Senior Al Qaeda leader condemns Pak govt. in Bin Laden eulogy

Posted:

A senior al Qaeda leader, who is believed to have been killed in early June this year, has appeared on a propaganda tape, praising Osama bin Laden and condemning the Pakistani government for betraying the terror group and allied organizations

As Sahab (the Clouds), al Qaeda's media production arm, has released the videotape on Islamist forums, featuring Ustadh Ahmad Farooq, al Qaeda's media emir and head of "Islamic Propagation" for Pakistan, and images of bin Laden, The Long War Journal reports.

The videotape is titled "With Such an Elevated Status They Met Allah!, and reports suggest that a translation of Farooq's statement was provided by the SITE Intel Group.

The release of the tape has raised doubts about the deaths of Farooq and Ilyas Kashmiri, the al Qaeda military chief and leader of the Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami and Brigade 313. Both al Qaeda commanders were earlier reported to have been killed in the June 3 Predator airstrike in South Waziristan.

Although the tape, dated May 21-- 12 days before Farooq was reported killed, indicate the possibility that he was killed on the June 3 attack, doubts have been raised whether al Qaeda would release an eulogy for bin Laden by a leader who was also dead.

In today's tape, Farooq attacked Pakistan for betraying al Qaeda and allied groups such as the Afghan Taliban, saying: "Pakistani armed forces and its intelligence agencies have betrayed the Ummah, the religion and the global Jihadi movement."

"We will purify this land from the filth of these apostates [the Pakistani military and government] and establish a true Pakistan (land of the pure) where all Mujahideen and emigrants, Arab and non-Arab, will walk freely on the streets of Islamabad, fearing none other than Allah alone," he added.

An upstart brokerage firm in New York claims buying its apartments would improve ones' sex life in its new ad campaign

The new firm, MNS, is marketing their pads to young professionals who are raking in the moolah, and are looking for something extra on the side.

The spicy tagline is: "I don't remember his name, but his apartment . . ."

It's followed by one of four racy graphics -- including one with the outline of a woman's legs and feet in heels, lying on top of a man's lower half.

"You can make a correlation between the quality of your apartment and the quality of women you get," the New York Post quoted Ryan McCann, executive vice president of marketing at MNS, as saying.

The company's web site is also asking readers to write where they hooked up by e-mailing in their stories.

Lesbian couple who saved 40 kids from Norway massacre hailed as heroes

Posted:

The unsung heroes of Norway massacre includes a married lesbian couple, who saved 40 children from Anders Breivik's killing spree on Utoya Island, on July 22

Hege Dalen and her partner, Toril Hansen, made repeated trips to pick up frightened and wounded youngsters from the waters around Utoya Island.

Their story, however, was not reported until now, leading some to speculate that they had been overlooked because of their sexuality, the Daily Mail reports.

The couple was on a picnic when they heard gunfire and screaming as Breivik began his killing spree on Utoya island.

Realising something terrible was happening, and seeing youngsters fleeing the island into the waters of the lake, they pushed their boat out to come to the rescue, the paper said.

"We saw how the young people ran in panic into the lake," said Dalen.

Without caring for their own safety, the couple drove their boat to the island to rescue young and wounded victims from the waters.

Since there were so many to rescue, they returned to the island four times.

In total the pair rescued 40 youngsters, the paper said.

Breivik killed 77 people in his attack on Utoya Island and a bomb planted outside Norwegian government buildings in Oslo.

He claimed he carried out the attacks to launch a revolution against a Europe spoiled by Muslim immigration.

Man to spend 35 days in cage with lion

A Ukrainian owner of a small private zoo will spend 35 days in a cage with a pregnant lioness in a bid to set a new world record.

Alexander Pylyshenko entered the cage equipped with web cameras, a shower and a lavatory and his dangerous vigil can be followed online at http://homezoo.com.ua/.

He plans to help Katya, the nine-year-old lioness, deliver her cub.

"Any animal, even a predator, should feel protected at this crucial moment. Katya lives among people and considers us members of her pride," he said.

Katya's partner, a lion named Samson, will stay in a nearby cage.

Pylyshenko, who keeps two lions, a bear and a lynx at his zoo, wants to break the Guinness record set by James Jablon, the owner of a Florida wildlife rescue centre, who spent two weeks in a cage with two lions.

Wife in trouble after sending hubby SMS meant for lover!

Posted:

The wife of a doctor landed herself in trouble after mistakenly sending to her hubby a text message which she meant for her lover, Daily Mail reported.

The doctor threatened to kill his estranged wife after she accidentally sent him a text message intended for her lover, a British court heard.

Nurse Victoria Stacey wrote a message for a family friend with whom she was having an affair, which read: "How about another weekend in the Marriott Hotel in Birmingham?"

The court heard that because she was unfamiliar with her new mobile phone, she accidentally sent it to her husband Simon Stacey, 39, instead of her lover.

Stacey, mother of two children, said that after her husband received the text message, he called her to say "he was going to come down and kill me at work".

She admitted to the affair with a friend's husband while giving evidence during the trial for assault at Bolton Crown Court.

"I sent that message in error because I had just got a new mobile phone," she told the court while adding that she had embarked on the affair after her husband moved out of the family home.

She also claimed to have allegedly suffered years of abuse by her husband.

The doctor has denied one count of assault causing actual bodily harm after allegedly beating his wife with a shoe, leaving her in fear for her life.

The jury heard the assault was just one of many incidents of violence during the couple's turbulent marriage.

Kate gets trained to fight off kidnappers

Posted:

The Duchess of Cambridge has been on a gruelling SAS-run course to protect her against kidnap.

Kate (29) went through the personal protection programme because her profile has soared following her wedding to Prince William. Her new-found royal status has also made her a target for terrorists and abductors.

The course described as 'very tough, physically and mentally' teaches key survival skills such as noticing anything unusual in routine surroundings, how to react when attacked and how to build a relationship with hostage-takers.

Other elements include driving under pressure. A source said, "The Palace wants to ensure Kate's new status doesn't make her vulnerable to attack.

She has been well trained in what to do should the unthinkable happen." The course is usually taught by SAS, personal protection or MI5 officers.

Bomb strapped to OZ teen girl

Cops rush to defuse 'collar explosive' wrapped around 18-yr-old victim as parents are held to ransom in Sydney

Bomb squad officers have entered a house in a wealthy suburb of Sydney where a terrified teenage girl is reported to have had an explosive device strapped to her body by a balaclava-clad intruder.

Officers try to work out how they can diffuse the explosive device, which is strapped to the girl and has a note attached to it

Police said a 'delicate operation' was taking place in a house in the suburb of Mosman.

A senior police officer described the device as an unusual 'collar bomb', which has never been seen before in Australia, but an exact description has yet to be officially given.

Reports suggested the 18-year-old girl has been at the property in Mosman when an intruder broke in and fitted her with the device against her will. Once the intruder left the property she rang police for help.

Police have refused to confirm reports that she was also left with a ransom note.

However, she is understood to be the daughter of a wealthy Sydney businessman and Australian media have suggested that the extraordinary incident might be part of an extortion attempt.

Police, bomb squads and negotiators were on the scene, attempting to determine if the bomb was live or could be controlled remotely.

Assistant Police Commissioner Mark Murdoch told the assembled media that police were trying to "work out what it is and more importantly what it isn't."

More than seven hours after police arrived at the house, Murdoch said the girl was "doing pretty well" and remained calm.

Murdoch added, "There's a device in the house in the vicinity of the young woman. That device is still being examined as we speak.

We are treating the device as live until we know otherwise. We need to play our cards pretty close to our chest at this point.

The young lady is fine and doing her best to assist the police to find out exactly what's gone on."

He said police were working as quickly as possible to resolve the situation but would not do anything to put lives in danger.

He also issued an appeal to locals to come forward if they saw anything strange during the afternoon.

The young woman's parents were with police outside the house and had received updated on the situation.

Surrounding homes were evacuated, with several streets closed to traffic, while medical and fire crews remain on standby. Several stunned neighbours gathered on streets near the police cordon.

One Mosman resident, who did not give his name, said the events had shocked the community. "This is usually a very serene, peaceful area, right next to the harbour" he said.

"I have never heard of anything like this happening before, it's incredibly sad."
