| US woman jailed for three days for spraying cops with breast milk Posted: The US woman, who sprayed cops with breast milk, has been jailed for three days. New mum Stephanie Robinette, 30, from Westerville, Ohio, was at a wedding with her husband when she became abusive and allegedly punched him twice in the face, the Sun reported. When cops were called to the scene, Robinette, who was drunk, hurled abuse at them too when they asked her to step out of her car. The lactating woman then told the deputies she was a breastfeeding mum before pulling out her right breast from her dress and spraying both men with her milk. The primary school teacher will also be on probation for two years. | |||
| Meet the man who wears part of his heart on his back in a rucksack Posted: Matthew Green, 40, a pharmaceutical consultant from London, will be the first Briton to be discharged from hospital with a completely artificial heart But the one thing he really mustn't forget before he leaves hospital is his rucksack, in which he will be carrying part of his new heart. The device in his chest is slightly larger than the organ it replaces and weighs less than six ounces. It delivers blood to the body with the help of a pump that is carried in the rucksack, along with a battery. Around 900 of the 'bridge-to-transplant' devices have been fitted around the world, although Green is the first to receive one in the UK. Green, who lives with wife Gill and their 5-year-old son Dylan, was diagnosed with Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy, a disease of the heart muscle that can cause arrhythmia, heart failure, and sudden death. With his health deteriorating fast and no suitable donors could be found, doctors at Papworth Hospital in Cambridgeshire decided to fit him with the device in a 100,000 pounds operation on June 9. Now, seven weeks on, the patient said he felt 'fantastic' as he spoke about the new lease of life he has been given. "I felt so ill before, so now to be feeling so well and full of life is great. I feel very lucky," the Daily Mail quoted Green as saying. "It feels very different - before the operation my heart beat was very weak and I could hardly feel my pulse. Now it's a very strong heart beat," he added. Papworth is the 66th hospital in the world and the first in the UK to be allowed to use the SynCardia artificial heart. The device that costs around 20,000 pounds a year to maintain, was developed by U.S. firm SynCardia Systems, which is based in Arizona. | |||
| UK woman lured two white teens to be raped by three Asian men Posted: A 17-year-old British woman plied two teenage girls with vodka and drugs, and then forced them to have sex with three Asian men Stephanie Knight told the two 16-year-old victims that they were going for clubbing, but instead lured the girls to be raped by 'her boys'. After persuading the victims into her car she was heard saying 'got them' over her mobile phone as they travelled to a derelict house. The two 16-year-old victims were then subjected to an appalling ordeal in which both were threatened and subjected to vile sex attacks. Knight, now aged 19, has been convicted of conspiracy to rape at Burnley Crown Court, the Daily Mail reports. Three men, brothers Amjad Hussain, 34, and Shahid Hussain, 37, and their cousin a father-of-four, Tanveer Butt, 39, have all been convicted of rape. Following the arrest of the defendants, a victim revealed that Knight 'hangs around with a load of Asian lads.' The case is the latest featuring Asian sex attackers who preyed on young white girls. A recently published report revealed that one in four men who were accused of street grooming young girls for sex, is Asian. Former home secretary Jack Straw has accused some Pakistani men in Britain of seeing white girls as 'easy meat' for sexual abuse. The report into street grooming was ordered after the ring-leaders of a Derby gang, which subjected a string of vulnerable girls to sex attacks, were jailed earlier this year. | |||
| Man jailed for building nuclear reactor in his kitchen Posted: A Swedish man who attempted to build a nuclear reactor in his kitchen had to face jail. "I was arrested and sent to jail when the police and the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority searched my apartment," Fox News quoted the unnamed nuclear enthusiast as writing on a blog detailing his project. "They took all my radioactive stuff, but I was released after a hearing. But I am still suspect for crime against the radiation safety law," the man wrote. Police in the western town of Angelholm were alerted when he contacted Sweden's nuclear authority and asked if it was permitted for an individual to build a nuclear reactor in his home. He posted requests for information online and posted photos of experiments in his kitchen. A spokesman for the local city council told FoxNews that people in the city of Angelholm were largely unfazed by the potential nuclear reactor. "The reactions I have encountered about citizens in Angelholm is that the whole thing seems innocent," said Anders Clark. | |||
| 'Bin Laden' to build world's tallest tower in Saudi Arabia Posted: Saudi construction company Bin Laden group will build the world's tallest tower for 1.2 billion dollars north of Jeddah. Saudi Arabian Prince Alwaleed bin Talal revealed that he had signed the deal to build the 3,280 feet high Kingdom Tower. The mega project, first announced in 2008, would cover two square miles at its base and stand a kilometre high. It is the first among several sprawling mega projects proposed for a ''Kingdom City'' plan and is among one of seven ambitious projects in the kingdom, the Daily Mail reports. The Kingdom Tower deal was signed between Jeddah Economic Co., a KHC affiliate, and the Binladen Group, a construction giant. Binladen will hold 16.6 percent stake in JEC. The project is intended to diversify the economy from the crude oil that has fuelled the Saudi Arabia's growth for years. It also reflects a continuation of the unstated race between the oil- rich Gulf nations that are also pumping billions of dollars into job creation and housing for their lower income residents. The Burj Khalifa, built by developer Emaar, is currently the tallest building in the world. Alwaleed's proposed skyscraper is expected to shatter the record for Burj Khalifa. The 2,717 feet tower has 160 livable floors, making it not only the tallest building but also the tallest free-standing structure in the world. | |||
| Barber held for homosexual's murder in Pakistan Posted: A barber, who has been arrested here for killing a man in a garden, has said he befriended the victim as he was a homosexual. The victim's body was found in Rose and Jasmine Garden three weeks ago. Police official Khalil Ahmad told Dawn that nothing was found on the body that could lead to its identification and even the clothes of the murdered man were missing, except for a vest. Later, a wallet was found, which helped identify the victim. Investigations led to the barber, who told the police the victim was a homosexual due to which he had befriended him. The barber said he served tea mixed with a tranquiliser to the victim. The victim fell unconscious soon after removing his clothes and the barber took away Rs.5,000 from his pocket. | Lettuce craving helps UK woman diagnose breast cancer! Posted: A woman in England is crediting her sudden addiction for lettuce and her husband's quick thinking for saving her life from breast cancer Elsie Campbell, 59, from Derby, used to eat up to four lettuces a day, which puzzled her forensic scientist husband. Jim realised that his wife''s craving could be a sign she was fighting a serious illness. He found that lettuce and other green vegetables contain the compound sulforaphane - and a lack of it can be associated with breast cancer. The couple was stunned when hospital tests showed Elsie had the cancer, but has now made a full recovery thanks to the early diagnosis. "I''d always eaten lettuce in salads but suddenly I just couldn''t get enough of it," the Sun quoted her as saying "I could eat three or four a day. I''d eat a whole iceberg lettuce at work and sit on the bus on the way home, thinking about eating more. I''d get home and cut one into chunks and eat it like a watermelon," she added. Strangely, as soon as the lump was removed, Elsie's craving vanished. "I haven''t wanted to eat a lettuce leaf since," she said. Elsie''s lettuce addiction was the condition known as Pica, where the body craves unusual and sometimes inedible things. It is usually pregnant women who have it. She has now credited her husband with saving her life. "I was so lucky Jim spotted the signs when he did - my lettuce addiction probably saved my life," she added. | |||

"We'd been cooking for our dog and we'd seen a lot of obesity in dogs and things in foods that are bad for them," Fox News quoted Needham as saying. "It's a fun job and, if you pay attention to a dog's diet, it can actually increase their lifespan," she said. The couple have set up a catering service for pet parties that sees the bakery create up to 10 customized birthday cakes a week. "Six hundred dollars is the most expensive party we've had. It was for 15 dogs, which included the cake, party food and the gift bags," she added.
| Naked New Yorkers arrested for stripping down on Wall St Posted: Three New Yorkers have been arrested after they stripped on Wall St. as part of a performance art project After disrobing in front of the New York Stock Exchange about 7 a.m., the trio was taken to the 1st Precinct stationhouse in Tribeca, after which they were each released with a summons, police said. Artist Zefrey Throwell had gathered 50 people on Wall Street as part of a performance art event called "Ocularpation: Wall Street" where participants posed as traders, janitors and secretaries. Throwell said he was inspired by his 65-year-old mother's loss of most of her retirement savings during the Wall St. crash, which forced her to return to work. "I came up with this as an educational project to help illuminate the mysterious wheels of Wall St. It's not just a strip tease," the New York Daily News quoted him as saying The nudity represented the transparency Throwell believes Wall St. needs. "People loved it. It was a ludicrous event," he stated. Eric Clinton Anderson, 32, a Brooklyn artist was one of the men apprehended by cops. "It was pretty hard to keep a straight face," he said.
"I think it's pretty interesting Wall St. guys can do what they've done, and nobody goes to jail," he added.

| Posted: Sonar scans looking for a century-old wreck of a Swedish merchant ship have revealed a grainy outline of a saucer shape against the dirt in the Gulf of Bothnia -- hinting of a crashed UFO on the ocean floor. The mysterious shape found at a depth of roughly 100 metres, between Sweden and Finland, makes scientists certain about one thing -- that our planet has been visited by extraterrestrials. The ocean exploration team which found it suggests that the mud around the craft has been scarred, suggesting it has tried to move around, the Daily Mail reports. Swedish explorer Peter Lindberg was looking for remains of sunken Swedish ships laden with cargo such as wines and champagne when he chanced upon the UFO. Some have even suggested it resembles the Millennium Falcon from the Star Wars series, with its distinctive front forks and round shape. Lindberg said it was large and about 60 feet across and clearly visible. "You see a lot of weird stuff in this job, but during my 18 years as a professional I have never seen anything like this," he said. | |||

| Mad mayor goes on tank rampage Posted: The mayor of the Lithuanian capital Vilnius has taken his frustration over motorists parking in bicycle lanes into his own hands by driving an armoured personnel carrier over a Mercedes.
In a publicity stunt to reassure the public that the city authorities is addressing the issue, Arturas Zuokas jumped in an army troop carrier and drove over an old Mercedes-Benz S-Class that had been parked in a bus lane. "I wanted to send a message" Zuokas told the media. "I want to point out that if you have a car and more money it doesn't mean that you can park it everywhere. Recently there's been an increase in this type of parking violations, and it shows a lack of respect for others". On his Facebook page, he defended the decision to use an armoured personnel carrier to deal with errant motorists, "This week, a lot of stories about a place of luxury cars parked. This morning I had to remind one of a few rules :-)" The shocked owner of the Mercedes was photographed exiting a shop to find his car destroyed.
| Bra chain record comes apart at the seams in UK Posted: A British attempt to set a new world record for the longest chain of brassieres was called off after volunteers got the lingerie in a twist. Campaigners at 'Bra Chain' hoped to hook together over 100 miles of bras in Worcester to raise money for women's charities and beat the current world record of 1,66,000 linked brassieres, held by Australia. Volunteers, or "hookers," aimed to connect 2,00,000 bras, but were forced to quit at half that number when the undergarments became tangled in the boxes. "We underestimated the time it would take to get the bras out of their boxes and hooked together there were bras all over the place," said Launa Walker at Bra Chain. "It does take a lot of time to assemble bras into a chain and after about nine hours of hooking them up we decided to call it a day," said Walker. The organisers say they will attempt another world record bid in the future and are still accepting donations of unwanted bras. "We are going to try it again we've learnt a few tricks of the trade, now all that remains is to set a date," said Walker. Did you know? The Australian reocrd of 1,66,000 linked brassieres took volunteers three years' time to complete | |||
| Breivik asks for Japanese doctors Posted: That's one of the unrealistic demands put forth by Norway gunman to authorities; others include cigarettes, civilian clothes and even the resignation of the government Anders Behring Breivik, the self-confessed perpetrator of Norway's twin terror attacks, has demanded that his mental condition be diagnosed by Japanese specialists as part of a list of demands his lawyer described as "unrealistic."
Geir Lippestad said his client promised to tip police off about two other terrorist cells that allegedly helped him organize the July 22 massacres if the authorities met his demands, which also include the resignation of the government. One list of demands related to daily life in custody, such as for cigarettes and civilian clothing while the other refers to political reforms. Lippestad said the 32-year-old anti-Muslim extremist wanted to be diagnosed by Japanese specialists because "he claims the Japanese understand the idea and values of honour and that a Japanese (specialist) would understand him a lot better than any European would," said Geir Lippestad. His demands also include the complete overthrowing of both the Norwegian and European societies," Lippestad added. Behring Breivik claims the massacre was part of a "crusade" to stop a "Muslim invasion" of Europe. Lippestad said his demands, showed that "he doesn't understand the situation he's in." Breivik has confessed to killing eight people with a car bomb in Oslo before shooting dead 69 others at an island youth camp on July 22. He could be jailed for up to 30 years if convicted. 'No witch hunts' The people must resist the temptation to embark on a 'witch hunt' in the wake of the massacres that left 77 people dead, PM Jens Stoltenberg said yesterday. He also urged leaders to show restraint in their public statements. Hacked! Hacker group Anonymous broke into the Norway killer's Twitter account and are encouraging people to tamper with his racist manifesto to ensure his ideas don't take root.
