Classes in PU colleges started on May 30 this year, but about 140 posts of lecturers in 53 government colleges in Dakshina Kannada district still remain vacant.

The Std XI centralised admission process panel has warned junior colleges in the city and Pimpri-Chinchwad against refusing admission to any allowed-to-keep-term (ATKT) student, once the student is allotted a seat through the counselling rounds that start from Thursday.
