Afghan President Hamid Karzai has given up trying to talk to the Taliban, saying in a video released on Saturday that Pakistan holds the only key to making peace with insurgents and must do more to support a political resolution to the war.

Plane hits Ferris wheel in Australia; no injuries

An ultra-light plane crashed into a Ferris wheel at a rural festival in eastern Australia on Saturday, trapping two children on the ride and two people in the aircraft for hours. There were no serious injuries.
