2G note row: Emails back Pranab Mukherjee's rebuttal Posted: 01 Nov 2011 07:23 AM PDT A month ago, Pranab Mukherjee had emphatically stated that an inference about his fellow minister P Chidambaram in a controversial note on the telecom scam was not his. Email exchanges between the Cabinet Secretariat and the Finance Ministry, that NDTV has now accessed, seem to support Mr Mukherjee's assertion. The emails show that officials in the Cabinet Secretariat had added the line in the Finance Ministry's 2G note that questioned Mr Chidambaram's actions during the telecom scam. |

Not much to cheer for on Andhra Pradesh formation day Posted: 01 Nov 2011 03:25 AM PDT Today is Andhra Pradesh's formation day but in the state there is little reason to cheer for. Pro-Telangana groups say the day symbolises the betrayal of Telangana. It was on this day that the Telangana districts were merged with the coastal and rayala-seema districts 55 years ago to make Andhra Pradesh the first state to be formed on linguistic basis in 1956. |

The Supreme Court is now considering that option. |
