Amit Sherawat would have never imagined that his job as a cab driver would make him a hero. His presence of mind and prompt action helped police save a girl from being molested. On Sunday night, the 25-year-old was driving a group of girls home, when his cab was followed and waylaid by five drunk men in an SUV. The men abducted one of the girls and fled from the spot.

A 55-year-old man who had suffered massive financial losses and his wife allegedly committed suicide at their home in North Delhi's Ashok Vihar, police said. Arvind Mathur, who worked as a finance manager in Jagjeey industry, and Rekha Mathur, 52, slashed their wrists, an official said.
