Private schools in Gujarat which do not have qualified teachers could be in trouble. The state education department on Friday made it compulsory for secondary and higher secondary schools to have qualified teachers or face de-recognition.

Union social justice minister Mukul Wasnik said that the government has hiked the limit of education loan for backward class students, and has also waived interest on loans to girls by 0.5 per cent.
