A minor fire erupted at the new cricket stadium being built by the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) on the outskirts of the city. The Pimpri Chinchwad chief fire officer Kiran Gawade said the fire brigade received a call from a person from the stadium management informing them about a fire in the store room at the ground floor. "Some 80 boxes containing LED screens and tiles were destroyed in the fire. However, no one was injured in the incident," Gawade said. Dnyaneshwar Bhalekar, sub officer of Pimpri Chinchwad fire brigade, said: "The incident took place when construction activity was on at the first floor.
