With the water level in Yamuna river still rising, flood alert in low-lying areas of Delhi continues. The river is flowing nearly 40 centimetres above the danger mark of 204.88 metres. Authorities say the railway bridge over the river may be closed if the water rises above 206 metres. This could affect trains to western Uttar Pradesh from Delhi.

Drunk Mumbai constable beats up tea stall owner

Shankar Balburi, a tea stall owner in Mumbai, was beaten up by Constable Laxman Shivaji Shirke deployed at the Bombay Exhibition Center, Goregaon (E) on security duty. The incident took place outside the exhibition centre around midnight, when Laxman hit Shankar brutally with his belt. Laxman was having an argument with a taxi driver over a parking issue when Shankar interfered to settle the matter.
