Pune: Cartoonist RK Laxman hospitalised Posted: RK Laxman, India's greatest cartoonist and the man who touched the common man, has been admitted to hospital following a stroke in Pune. Laxman's work which spans over six decades chronicled India. He is best known for his fearless lampooning of politicians, from Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi during the repressive days of the Emergency, to Vajpayee and other leaders. |
Prime Minister watches 'Peepli Live' Posted: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh watched Bollywood star Aamir Khan's production "Peepli Live" at his 7 Race Course Road residence on Sunday evening, an official said. "Dr. Singh watched the film with interest," the official in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said after the special screening of the film. |
Internet wiping out printed Oxford Dictionary Posted: It's been in print for over a century, but in future the Oxford English Dictionary, the authoritative guide to the English language, may only be available to peruse online.
