J&K 'custody' death: More allegations against Omar Posted: 06 Oct 2011 07:55 AM PDT The main eyewitness in the custodial death case of National Conference member Syed Mohammed Yousuf Shah has made fresh allegations against J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and his father Farooq. Syed Mohammed Yousuf Shah died while in police custody early on Friday morning. He was handed over to the Crime Branch by Mr Abdullah for allegedly promising two party members senior positions in the government in exchange for huge amounts of money. An initial post-mortem report says Mr Shah probably died of a cardio-respiratory arrest or heart attack. It said there were no visible external injuries. |

Treating cop like terrorist, says Sanjiv Bhatt's wife in letter to Chidambaram Posted: 05 Oct 2011 05:56 PM PDT The wife of suspended Gujarat IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt has written another letter to Union Home Minister P Chidambaram saying her husband is being treated like a terrorist. In the letter, Shweta Bhatt has said she fears for her husband's life and that the Gujarat government is doing all that it can to deny bail. |
