US inmate files lawsuit against jail over pornography ban Posted: A US jail inmate has filed a lawsuit against the Macomb County Jail claiming that the prison is depriving him of pornography The 21-year-old said he is being subjected to cruel and unusual punishment and that his civil rights are being violated, reports the Daily Express. In a hand-written lawsuit, Richards said denying his request for erotic material subjects him to a "poor standard of living" and "sexual and sensory deprivation". The Detroit News was told by the Michigan Department of Corrections that prisons allow some pornographic material, though it is banned at the jail. The American Civil Liberties Union said prisons have a lot of leeway. Richards was charged with bank robbery after police followed a trail of snowy footprints and dropped money to his apartment from a bank robbery scene in January in Fraser, north of Detroit.

UK man who had 'sex in his sleep' cleared of rape charges Posted: A UK man who allegedly raped a minor girl was acquitted on the grounds that he had been suffering from 'sexsomnia' during the incident Stephen Davies, 43, said that he had sex with the 16-year-old girl while asleep and had no recollection of it, reports the Daily Mail. He also said that he hardly could stir up his memory to recall his act of having sex with the college student despite speaking to her at the time, and then leaving his bedroom to make a hot drink. He told the Swansea Crown Court that he even sent a text message to the girl the next day to know whether they had been intimate, but he got an abusive reply that read - 'Go to hell, you dirty b******.' The girl was staying at Davies' home in Pembroke Dock, Wales, when she became ill during the night and went to sleep in his bedroom because it was cooler.

Chef in Oz kills ex-wife over orgasm jibe Posted: A chef residing in Australia has claimed that he choked his ex-wife to death because she launched a verbal attack on his sexual incompetence, a court heard on Monday A jury has heard how Jiagen Pan, 45, was arguing with his former wife Linjin Cui at her Springfield Lakes home in August 2009 when she slapped him and called him a 'son of a bitch' and 'a loser', reports Brisbane Times. Pan has pleaded not guilty to murdering Ms Cui. He admits killing her but claims he was provoked. Pan''s defence barrister Soraya Ryan said Cui told her client: "You''re not a man; you never satisfied me as a man; you never brought me to orgasm." At those words, Pan 'lost control' and put his hands around her throat, Ryan told Brisbane Supreme Court as she opened her client''s defence case. Ryan said Pan then realised his ex-wife was not breathing. After choking her to death, Pan bought several circular saws from a Bunnings store, dismembered her body and then took her remains to his Woodridge home. Pan then began building a cavity in a hallway cupboard using concrete and police arrived as he tried to entomb her body. The trial continues this week.

No cleavage, says ex-Washington lobbyist Posted: A Washington lobbyist-turned-designer has created a white shirt that covers busty women's cleavages and save them from falling prey to men's ogling eyes Rochelle Behrens, who describes herself as 'buxom", found that every white shirt she bought tended to gape open during meetings, making her the 'butt of all jokes". 'The one item in a woman's wardrobe that is supposed to project professionalism ends up undermining your credibility," the Daily Mail quoted her as saying. 'I wanted it to be youthful, to be fresh. I wanted it to look like myself. I wanted to wear things that were not form-fitting but that were tailored," she added. The 28-year-old got so frustrated with the ill-fitting corporate shirts that she set out making a shirt that would solve her problem and that of all women like her. Despite having no experience in fashion designing, Behrens began spending all her free time working on a design and aligning the buttons so they allowed just enough of her cleavage to show, but not too much. She found a pattern maker in New York who worked with Diane Von Furstenberg, tracked down a manufacturer in Spain and now her shirt is on sale. 'The Shirt' can be purchased via the-shirt.com along with Bloomingdales and boutiques and is available in four options, costing between 88 to 94 dollars. It also includes the classic model and one with tie in a bow around the neck - to ensure no man can even get a peek.

DSK faces new sexual assault suit Posted: French writer Tristane Banon will bring legal action against Dominique Strauss-Kahn for attempted rape, her lawyer said yesterday.
"My client Tristane Banon will file a complaint [Tuesday] against Dominique Strauss-Kahn for attempted rape," David Koubbi told L'Express.
The incident was alleged to have taken place in Paris in 2003, when Banon worked as a journalist, Koubbi said. Under French law, there is a 10-year window to file a rape complaint, he said.
She was persuaded against filing a complaint at the time by her mother, but spoke about the alleged incident shortly after the former International Monetary Fund chief was arrested on rape charges in New York in May.
Banon alleged that Strauss-Kahn invited her to an apartment promising to give her an interview, and instead pounced on her like "a rutting chimpanzee."
Koubbi said the timing of her complaint had nothing to do with events in New York.
"If the [New York] prosecutor's case against Strauss-Kahn is empty, ours is not. It is extremely solid and well-supported," he said.
Strauss-Kahn was released on his own recognisance last Friday amid doubts over the credibility of his New York accuser, and the case is reported to be on the verge of collapse.
Banon first revealed the alleged rape when she was a guest on a TV talk show in 2007.

Kate reveals baby hopes Posted: Duchess of Cambridge expresses her hopes of starting a family
The Duchess of Cambridge yesterday spoke for the first time about starting a family.
As Kate accepted flowers from two-year-old Raffaela Cheater in Quebec city, British ex-pat dad David (28) wished her well in her efforts to start a family. Kate replied, "Yes, I hope to."
Catherine Middleton greets well-wishers across Charlottetown. During the visit, it has been noticed that the Duchess has been close and exceptionally kind with children and expressed a desire to start a family of her own
It is the first time the Duchess has spoken publicly about having children, although Prince William stated when the couple got engaged that a family was something they both wanted.
If Kate follows royal precedence she could be giving birth to an heir before April next year.
William was born on June 21, 1982 about 11 months after his parents, the Prince and Princess of Wales, married in July 1981.
The Queen gave birth to Charles on November 14, 1948, just short of a year after marrying the Duke of Edinburgh on November 20, 1947.
The cradle of Confederation was teeming with smiling faces young and old yesterday as Prince William and Kate began their day in Prince Edward Island at the site of the Charlottetown Conference, which laid the foundation for Canada's birth.
Thousands of people, many of them having spent the night outside, were gathered at Province House, PEI's legislature and the site of the historic meeting some 146 years ago that paved the way for Confederation.
A sea of small Canadian flags had gathered beneath slightly overcast skies to catch a glimpse by the time the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived Kate in a cream pencil dress by Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen, William his traditional blue suit with a burgundy tie.
"It is quite a moment for Catherine and me to be standing here in the Atlantic Canada, in front of Province House, where Canadian federation was forged," William told the enthusiastic, cheering crowd.
"Here, in the crucible of Canadian nationhood, we look forward to meeting many of you."
Premier Robert Ghiz introduced William, announcing the establishment of a scholarship fund in the name of the duke and duchess.
"We have both so looked forward to this day, and discovering more about your beautiful island," William said. "We are also delighted that you have chosen to inaugurate a scholarship in our names. Thank you for this wonderful and generous welcome."
From there, the duke and duchess split up and began working the crowd, shaking hands with the many spectators pressed up against the barricades along the street, utterly unfazed by the spitting rain that began to fall.
Lone protest The crowd was almost universally friendly, save for one lone protester toting a small sign that read, "You are not my prince." Unsympathetic spectators nearby used umbrellas to obscure the sign.
Boat racing From Charlottetown, the duke and duchess will travel to Dalvay by sea, where Prince William, an RAF search and rescue helicopter pilot, will join his Canadian counterparts in landing a Sea King helicopter on water.
Later, they will steer teams of professional dragon boat racers and local athletes across Dalvay Lake.
Going nautical The Duchess of Cambridge chose a nautical-inspired, cream pencil dress by Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen the same designer who designed her wedding dress.
Dying Wish Prince William and Kate granted a dying man his final wish by visiting him during their royal tour of Canada. Terminally ill cancer patient Terry Joyce of Ottawa was informed by doctors that he had only three months left to live. His wish of meeting Wills-Kate came true as they have seaside time from their busy tour schedule to meet Joyce.

Woman catches baby falling from 10-storey building Posted: A two-year-old Chinese girl survived a fall from a 10th-floor window thanks to a passer-by who raced to catch the toddler, state media reported.
Wu Juping (31) herself the mother of a seven-month-old baby was feted as a heroine on Chinese television, which showed her in a hospital bed recovering from a broken arm after Saturday's accident.
The child, named Niu Niu, suffered internal bleeding and remains in a critical condition. She had been left at home alone when the accident took place, state-run news agency reported.
Niu Niu survived internal bleeding and remains in critical condition
Seeing the child dangling from the window and about to fall, Wu kicked off her high-heeled shoes and ran towards her with her arms outstretched.
Niu Niu struck Wu's left arm before falling onto the lawn, while Wu passed out from the force of the blow. The accident took place near Hangzhou, capital of the eastern province of Zhejiang.
Jin Dengfeng, director of a hospital in Fuyang city, which offered to treat Wu free of charge when it heard of her actions, said the woman had risked her life by breaking the child's fall.
"She could have died or been paralysed for life if the child had hit her head or her back," he said.
Wu said that because of her injury she would be forced to stop breast-feeding her infant son earlier than planned.
"I don't regret anything that happened," she was quoted as saying. "I just hope that Niu Niu will recover."

Monaco princess tried to flee royal wedding thrice Posted: Princess Charlene of Monaco tried to flee home to South Africa three times before her marriage to Prince Albert II, according to reports.
The former Charlene Wittstock (33), reportedly made her first escape attempt when she travelled to Paris in May to try on her wedding dress. During the visit, she 'took refuge' in her country's embassy in the French capital, sources in Monaco said.
Prince Albert II and his wife Charlene cut their wedding cake, reportedly the world's biggest wedding cake. The five-tier cake was truly exceptional and dwarfed the couple
The allegations, which are surprising considering she went ahead with the wedding on Saturday, emerged in the French newspaper Le Journal du Dimanche.
It went on to report that later in May, Charlene made a second apparent attempt to escape during the Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix.
Then, last week, royal officials are said to have confiscated her passport en route to Nice airport via the helicopter service that runs between the Mediterranean principality and France. She was then persuaded to go on with the marriage.
"Several sources have confirmed that an arrangement was reached between the future bride and groom," reported Le Journal du Dimanche.
Sources said the Monaco palace had hoped the glitzy wedding attended by a host of celebrities and European royalty would 'overshadow' new claims about secret children fathered by Albert.
Instead, Charlene was in floods of tears at one point, while her 53-year-old husband looked on impassively. Meanwhile, the reception that followed provoked ridicule with tacky features such as a giant wedding cake that towered over the couple and a mirrored dance floor.
Today, the couple are due to fly to South Africa on honeymoon, presenting Charlene with her best chance yet of 'escaping' Monaco.
Show stopper Naomi Campbell dressed in a white Givenchy gown committed turned heads at the wedding of Prince Albert II to Charlene Wittstock. Naomi's halter-neck dress was embroidered with dozens of green stones which she teamed with green earrings.

'Obama dead' Posted: Hackers hijack news channel's Twitter page, post false messages of US President Barack Obama's assassination in Iowa restaurant
The Twitter account of the American Fox News politics team was compromised and used to falsely announce the death of the US president.
US President Obama greets well-wishers at Fort McNair in Washington yesterday
Hackers, who identified themselves as The Script Kiddies and said they shared the spirit of prominent hacking group Anonymous, used the account to write, "BREAKING NEWS: President @BarackObama assassinated, 2 gunshot wounds have proved too much. It's a sad 4th for #america. #obamadead RIP".
In another tweet they wrote, "#ObamaDead, it's a sad 4th of July. RT to support the late president's family, and RIP. The shooter will be found".
The hackers added, "@BarackObama shot twice at a Ross' restaurant in Iowa while campaigning. RIP Obama, best regards to the Obama family."
In a stream of messages sent over several hours beginning on Sunday night, the hackers said, "We wish @joebiden the best of luck as our new President of the United States.
In such a time of madness, there's light at the end of tunnel", and "@BarackObama has just passed. Nearly 45 minutes ago, he was shot twice in the lower pelvic area and in the neck; shooter unknown. Bled out".
The @FoxNewsPolitics account now has more than 34,000 followers, and the messages have been widely retweeted.
A group calling themselves the The Script Kiddies claimed responsibility and threatened more embarrassment for Fox News in the future.
"I would consider us to be close in relation to Anonymous, two of the members of our group were members of Anonymous. I was a member of Anonymous", one alleged hacked told Think, adding "We hope to be working with them soon."
The hacker claimed, "Fox News was selected because we figured their security would be just as much of a joke as their reporting."
The rogue tweets began after the hackers sent a message saying Fox had just 'regained full access to our Twitter account'. Initially they were directed to the President's official Twitter feed.
Fox News' Take "Reports of President Obama's assassination are incorrect, of course, and the president is spending the July 4 holiday with his family. The hacking is being investigated, and FoxNews.com regrets any distress the false tweets may have created," a statement from the network said.

Lashkar threat to Thackeray a false alarm, says Headley Posted: The LeT operative said killing the Shiv Sena supremo would be like killing the proverbial golden goose
The Pakistani Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) wanted to invite Bal Thackeray for a fund raiser in the US, hoping he would make inflammatory comments that would benefit the ISI, but they never planned to kill the Shiv Sena supremo, David Headley has said.
Headley told the court that the Shiv Sena is 'very influential' in India
Describing Shiv Sena as very influential in India, Headley said killing Thackeray would have been a stupid thing to do operationally and would be tantamount to killing the goose that lays the golden egg.
However, during his discussions with other Lashkar operatives, the 26/11 terror accused did joke about killing the Shiv Sena supremo. "Does LeT joke about killing people?" Headley was asked by the defence attorney during the Chicago trial of Tahawwur Hussain Rana.
"Yes. They do," Headley said in response to the question, which was being asked in context of the Lashkar leader asking him to get in touch with Raga Rege, his friend in Shiv Sena, to get its leader Bal Thackeray to come to the United States where he could be killed.
Killing, a joke? "They do it (kill people) and joke about it as well," Headley said noting that the discussion about killing Bal Thackeray was a joke.
Headley responded 'yes' when the defence attorney said that the ISI might have benefited from a Shiv Sena fund raiser in the US where Bal Thackeray would have said something inflammatory. The video of that could have been used by the ISI for saying that the US is hosting a terrorist.
"So if you are really bringing all this time and effort to bring the guy over, you wouldn't kill him?" the defence attorney asked.
"No, even though I would have wanted to, because that would operationally be a stupid thing to do. To invest all this money to fly somebody here and then kill him, I would kill the golden goose, as they say, that lays the golden egg," Headley said.
"You thought you were going to get information out of him?" Headley was asked. "And get deeper inside of that organisation. They were very influential in India," he replied.
