Woman smashes window of taxi after driver rejects sex offer

Posted:

A woman in Darwin, Australia, has been arrested after she kicked a taxi she entered and smashed its window just because the driver refused to have sex with her.

According to the Northern Territory News, the woman had suggested to the driver that they have sex, and when he declined she started kicking the cab and then picked up a bottle and smashed the rear passenger window.

"If you saw the girl you'd have to be pretty desperate. She was a very big fat ugly woman, she got in the car and stunk it out," News.com.au quoted the cabdriver, who asked to be identified only as Dean, as saying.

Dean, 41, who is engaged to be married, said the woman got in his car outside a tavern and asked him "Do you want to have sex?", and when he said he was not interested she began swearing at him.

The woman was arrested a short time later by the police, and charged with having an offensive weapon and criminal damage.

"It would appear that she was a bit amorous at that time of the evening," Duty Superintendent Daniel Shean added.

Prince Harry trying to patch up with Chelsy Davy?

Posted:

It seems that Prince Harry is trying to patch up with Chelsy Davy -- the third-in-line to the British throne has reportedly gifted a diamond bracelet to his former girlfriend for Christmas.

According to 'The Sun', 26-year-old Harry gave the 25-year-old Zimbabwean blonde the 1,000-pound diamond bracelet and had even telephoned her on Christmas morning. A source close to Davy said she was "surprised and delighted" at the white gold gift -- and wondering if there was a future for their six-year romance, which finally ended last September.

"Harry's kindness made her think about whether they made the right decision in calling it a day. They're both finding it especially difficult being apart at Christmas. In previous years they spent time together," the source added. Davy is on holiday in Mauritius but will join pals in her Zimbabwe homeland for New Year.

In the past, Harry spent Christmas with the Royals, then flew on Boxing Day to see her. The source said: "Harry and Chelsy are still trying to work out whether or not they have a future. They will always care for one another. They don't talk as often as they used to -- I think he's giving her space to decide whether she wants a future with him."

A Royal spokeswoman has declined to comment.

Hubby facing five years in jail 'for hacking wife's emails'

Posted:

A 33-year-old man is facing up to five years in jail in the US for allegedly hacking his wife's e-mails, after he suspected her of cheating on him, a media report said.

Leon Walker has been charged by prosecutors in Oakland County, Michigan, under the state's anti-hacking laws aimed at preventing identity theft in the US, for allegedly reading her wife Clara's e-mails without her prior permission, 'The Daily Telegraph' online reported. Leon had suspected that his wife, who had been married twice before, was having an affair with her former husband.

He is alleged to have used his computer skills to gain access to her e-mail account on their shared home computer and discovered a series of e-mails which confirmed his suspicions that his wife was cheating on him, the report said.

Subsequently, Leon handed the e-mails over to the son of Clara's first husband who was forced into revealing the source of the leaked e-mails. When his wife realised her e-mails were read, she lodged a complaint with authorities. Clara later split up from Leon and the couple were divorced earlier this month, when he was arrested for hacking.

Prosecutor Jessica Cooper has dismissed Leon's claims he had used his wife's password to log on to the computer. She said Leon was nothing but a "hacker" who used his skills as a computer technician to gain access to his wife's e-mails. "It was password protected, he had wonderful skills, and was highly trained. Then he downloaded them and used them in a very contentious way," Cooper was quoted as saying.

Walker, who works as an IT technician for Oakland County, denies hacking into his wife's account. He is due to go on trial in February and could face a maximum of five years in jail if convicted.

World's fattest mum eats 30,000-calorie Christmas feast in single sitting

Posted:

A woman in the US, who won the title of the world's fattest mum, had a 30,000-calories Christmas feast in one two-hour sitting.

Donna Simpson, from New Jersey, is 46-stone, and she hopes to become the fattest woman in the world.

The single mother-of-two tucked into two 25lb turkeys, two maple-glazed hams, 15lbs of potatoes (10lbs roast, 5lbs mashed), five loaves of bread, five pounds of herb stuffing, four pints of gravy, four pints of cranberry dressing and an astonishing 20lbs of vegetables.

After polishing off her enormous main course, she still had room for dessert and ate a "salad" made of marshmallow, cream cheese, whipped cream and cookies.

And after the lavish spread, which cost her 150 pounds and which she ate while sitting in a reinforced metal chair, she has come closer to her 1,000lb goal.

"I eat as much as I want, whenever I want but at this time of year I really go all out. Christmas should give you carte blanche to do whatever you want," the Daily Mail quoted her as saying.

Simpson hopes to one day be the Guinness World Record holder for fattest woman. She is already on the books as the world's fattest mum, having given birth to Jacqueline in 2007 when she weighed 38 stone.

She makes a living from being fat, getting paid to make public appearances and keeping a website where people can pay to watch her eat.

Australian covers world in 52 marathons

Posted:

An Australian man, who ran one marathon a week across all seven continents, has completed 52 marathons in 52 weeks.

Tristan Miller received a hero's welcome from supporters and entered the record books when he crossed the finish line at Albert Park Lake here, the Australian news agency AAP reported Monday.

The 33-year-old former Google employee from Melbourne sold virtually everything he owned to fund his $120,000, 42-country, globe-trotting marathon, which included all seven continents.

Just over a week ago, he was running with 35 other competitors in Antarctica's "Ice Marathon", the report said.

He started running six years ago following a divorce, but the catalyst came last year when he lost his sales job after Google closed its Melbourne office during the global financial crisis.

"I thought, I don't have any attachments, I want to go and see the world ... so it was going into the unknown," he told AAP.

During the year he arrived in Costa Rica and discovered the race he was due to compete in had been cancelled.

He appealed for help on Facebook and an Argentinian man told him there was a race on in Mexico, and within a day he had flown there and was getting a lift to the event from another competitor.

"My philosophy all year was to break it down into the most simple terms: I just had to make sure I was there and then worry about the race when I get there," he said.

The year's highlights included finding a girlfriend and meeting people from around the world, many whom said he had inspired them.

"It had so many variables and so many issues attached to it and yet, the world kind of finds a way and makes it OK," he said.

When asked about his favourite marathon, he said, New York where some of his Australian friends joined him and ran.

"New York City is just a city on steroids, the marathon itself is out of control, there's two million people out there yelling at you just to make you keep running," he said.

Miller raised about $15,000 for Unicef and Facing Africa.

'Dead' Brazilian granny wakes up in coffin

Posted:

First she died, then she didn't. Now, sadly, she has, again.

As 88-year-old Maria das Dores da Conceicao's body was being readied for burial, funeral parlour staff noticed her twitch.

And though hospital doctors in Ipatinga, Brazil, signed her death certificate citing clogged arteries and hypertension, they have ashamedly admitted Conceicao was very much alive.

But just a day after being rushed back to an intensive care ward, still in her coffin, she has died, again.

Doctors gave her emergency treatment while still in her coffin at the same time as her funeral was due to be held on Christmas Day.

Brazilian police are investigating the case to determine whether a medical error at the hospital led to Conceicao's death.

The Mayor said officials were investigating in order to clarify the details to the shocked family.

Prince William and Kate Middleton will adieu to butlers

Royals, set to get married in a few months, choose to live life as a 'normal' couple

His father employs almost 150 staff to cater for his every need, but Prince William has insisted that he and Kate Middleton have no intention of taking on butlers or household staff after they begin married life in April.

The future king and queen have done everything they can to live like a 'normal' couple during their weekends together at the prince's rented cottage on Anglesey, off the north-west coast of Wales doing their own shopping, cooking and cleaning.

They have bodyguards on 24-hour duty to protect their isolated cottage, but they have told aides they intend to carry on fending for themselves when they return home after their wedding on April 29.

The couple believe that sharing their home with servants would ruin the intimacy of their relationship, and they will carry on looking after themselves until the prince finishes his tour of duty as an RAF search and rescue pilot in 2013.

A senior royal source said, "It's very much their instinct to manage on their own. They want to do their duty and make sure they are a real asset to the country, but they are private individuals who want to get on with their lives.

Prince William is not into extravagance and, like any other young officer in the armed forces, that is how he chooses to live his life. He and Catherine live without domestic staff and they wouldn't do it any other way. That's the life they want to lead."

"The prince is committed to his career at RAF Valley until 2013 and he wants his wife by his side during that time," he added.

The prince is very close to his grandmother, the Queen, and is aware of how fondly she and the Duke of Edinburgh recall their early married life together in Malta, where the duke was based as a naval officer.

The duke and the then Princess Elizabeth spent some of the happiest years of their lives at the Villa Guardamangia, the rented home of the duke's uncle, Lord Mountbatten, where they lived in near-anonymity from 1949 to 1951.

They regularly went dancing at a nearby hotel.

Prince William is also determined to shield his bride-to-be from the sort of media attention that surrounded his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, and cherishes the seclusion of Anglesey as a result.

His insistence on doing his own cooking and washing up is in stark contrast to his father, the Prince of Wales, who employs 149 staff, of whom 25 are classed as personal staff for himself, the Duchess of Cornwall and Princes William and Harry.

They include butlers, chauffeurs, valets and chefs and are paid a total of 6.3 million (Rs 44 crore).

Waxwork
Kate Middleton may not get her place next to Prince William until late 2011, Madame Tussauds has said. The wax sculpture museum said it will try to book a sitting with Middleton after her wedding in April. It would then take sculptors up to four months to make the model.
