Now, couriers to give voters' slips Posted: It might look like an unimportant development, but this is a move that reflects serious differences within members of the state's ruling party. Some civic poll candidates of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), in a first ever move in the party's history, have decided to not rely on party workers for distribution of voter's slips. The same are being outsourced to courier companies instead. |

Missing tiger continues to elude officials for fourth day Posted: Even after four days, the forest officials have not been able to tranquillise the tiger that strayed into the territory of Utter Pradesh and injured a few people in Fara village between Mathura and Agra districts. Life of newly born cubs in Ranthambhore forest in danger Posted: "Survival of the fittest" is rule of the jungle. If this is a fact then lives of two newly born cubs in Ranthambhore forest are in danger. No, it is not that the cubs are unable to cope up with the flora and fauna of the national park but they are having threat from tigers and other wild animals who are roaming in the same area. |
Vuvuzelas for CWG, but with Punjabi tadka Posted: If you hear the sound of the vuvuzela, it might just be 'Made in Punjab'! The monotone bugle and other high-selling sports merchandise is making its way from the state to the Commonwealth Games (CWG) in Delhi thanks to entrepreneur Manpreet Singh Walia. The 32-year-old entrepreneur from Mohali town, 10 km from here, got the idea of selling vuvuzelas for the CWG after a friend brought him one as a souvenir from South Africa. The vuvuzela had, after all, made its presence felt at the FIFA World Cup there. |
