Google officially removes 'The Pirate Bay' from autocomplete search suggestionsGoogle (GOOG) made the first big strike in its campaign to punish repeat copyright violators in its search rankings by deleting autocomplete suggestions for The Pirate Bay's website. TorrentFreak reports that typing in the first few letters of "Pirate Bay" will no longer give an autocomplete suggestion for the popular file-sharing website, although typing "Pirate Bay" in full and pressing return will still retrieve the site as the first search result. Google first announced this past August that it had updated its algorithms to punish websites that were repeatedly flagged with legitimate copyright violations by lowering their rankings in search results. Sony RX1 leak reveals a beautiful full-frame compact camera for $2799Budding photographers have two serious choices to pick from when shopping for a camera: DSLR and mirrorless. DSLRs provide a robust set of buttons, dials and lenses to shoot in professional settings, but are generally costly and somewhat bulky. And most mirrorless cameras, which are desired for their diminutive size and portability, simply don't have the same image quality that pros demand. But leaks from Photoprice Canada and Sony Alpha Rumors suggest Sony (SNE) is planning to sell a camera that has the best of both worlds: A compact camera called the RX1 with a fixed Carl Zeiss 35mm f/2.0 lens and full-frame sensor for $2799.  As a primer, a camera with a full-frame image sensor is advantageous over a smaller APS-C or

The RCA was founded more than 20 years ago by nine small operators that wanted a stronger voice in Washington. Over time the organization began to grow, however, and earlier this year it changed its bylaws to allow carriers with fewer than 80 million subscribers to become members — excluding only the two largest carriers, Verizon (VZ) and AT&T (T). "AT&T and Verizon Wireless have gotten so big so fast," Steven Berry, CEO of the CCA, said in an interview with CNET. Google Nexus 7 gets 720p HD video recording with a simple hack [video]Say what you want about 7-inch tablets being too small to compete with Apple's (AAPL) iPad, but Google's (GOOG) Nexus 7 is the best 7-inch tablet money can buy right now. That said, the fact that the tablet's 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera only records in VGA (640 x 480 resolution) is a huge disappointment. XDA Developers member "hillbeast" has tried to remedy this by releasing a how-to guide for tweaking the camera so it can record video in a more-acceptable 1280 x 720 resolution. Intrepid tinkerers should note that they'll need to root their Nexus 7 before hillbeast's modified code can be injected, so the camera upgrade isn't without its risks. Video showing a comparison between the original and modified cameras are posted below.
