Allegations are beneath contempt, says angry Omar about custody death Posted: 03 Oct 2011 07:00 AM PDT Chief Minister Omar Abdullah silently watched an ugly display of tempers in Jammu and Kashmir Assembly today over the alleged custodial death of National Conference member, Syed Mohammed Yousuf Shah. But he held a press conference immediately after House was adjourned for the day, saying allegations made against him by the Opposition were beneath contempt and that he would sue for defamation. |

The Opposition People's Democratic Party (PDP) trained its guns for Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and demanded his resignation. They have already moved an adjournment motion and have demanded suspension of routine business of the House. |

A group of Naxalites opened fire on a patrol party in Gyarahbatti Doewara in Kurkheda taluka in which CRPF jawan Ashok Kumar Pande (41) sustained bullet injuries, they said, adding he was rushed to the Civil Hospital in the district headquarters. |
