| Hit-and-run Chinese driver returns to kill hurt couple Posted: A driver, who collided with a young couple, returned to run over them after seeing the injured woman dialling for help in China's Shandong province. The accident took place in Anqiu city. The couple, who had got married less than a month back, died Sunday night, reported Shanghai Daily citing Qilu Evening Post. A witness said the couple was hit twice as the driver made a U-turn and hit them again. The witness said Dong, 24, and his 23-year-old wife were hit by a black off-road vehicle. Dong was unconscious and his wife began to dial for help. The media report said the vehicle returned and ran over them again.

| Man's face bitten off in fight over girl Posted: A man in Britain had his ears, a lip and part of his nose bitten off by another person in a sickening street brawl over a girl. The 31-year-old victim was knocked to the floor and punched in the head nine times before the attacker leaned in and began "eating away at his face and head", The Sun reported. The two were fighting over a girl. A policeman investigating the attack said it reminded him of a lion "wrenching the flesh from a gazelle" and described it as the most sickening attack he had seen in his 27-year career. The fight occurred outside the Funky Box nightspot in Liverpool city centre last week. The injured man was rushed to hospital and is due to undergo plastic surgery in an attempt to rebuild his face, but only one ear was found at the scene of the attack, which was captured on CCTV. Police official Stuart Moore said: "It is horrific, sickening and it is almost barbaric what takes place. "The footage shows a fight between two males. The victim and the assailant could be seen brawling in the street. Both males fall to the floor and there's a struggle." A 28-year old man charged with assault was remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on November 28. Another man arrested on suspicion of assault was bailed until November pending further enquiries.

The bizarre injury is thought to be the first of its kind. At first the woman thought she had just suffered a painful bruise. But when she went to see a doctor a few days later, he revealed the force of the impact had torn the implant. "Part of the fun of paintball is that it hurts a bit when you get shot but in all the years we've been going we've never seen an incident like this," the Sun quoted a spokesman for UK Paintball, who run the Paintzone Paintball Park, as saying. "It came as a real surprise to hear that a woman had her implant burst at one of our centres," the spokesman stated. In future, the spokesman said, women with fake boobs will be given extra padding to prevent similar injuries. Douglas McGeorge, the former president of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, said the bizarre injury could cost the woman 3,000 pounds. "This is very, very unusual and this woman was very unlucky. I imagine she was quite slim because the paintball would have had to pierce the skin to rupture the implant. "I have heard some odd stories over the years but this is one of the strangest. "And it could prove very costly. She could have to pay up to 3,000 pounds to get the implant replaced," he added.

| Chain of Chinese porn websites shut Posted: China and the US have jointly shut a chain of membership-based pornographic websites targeting Chinese-speaking audiences in China, the US and other countries. Wang Yong, the websites' primary operator, was arrested in the US June 23 by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), China's ministry of public security said in a statement Thursday. In a simultaneous raid, Chinese police detained more than 10 people suspected of maintaining the websites in China, reported Xinhua. Wang left China from Fujian province in January 2002 and has allegedly operated the illicit websites since 2007. He eventually controlled 48 porn websites, making his the world's largest chain of pornographic websites as well as the chain serving the most Chinese-speaking users. In China, 18 of Wang's websites offered child pornography, according to the ministry. According to Chinese law, individuals convicted of producing, copying, publishing, selling or distributing pornography face 10 years to life in prison. Chinese police kept a close eye on Wang's website chain, which had more than 10 million members, and arrested hundreds of the sites' administrators in China. Nevertheless, police in China were unable to destroy the chain's source as its main servers and operators were based in the US. In April 2010, Chinese authorities and the FBI began cooperating on cracking down on the website chain.

| Girl dubbed 'Rapunzel' will for the first time cut her hair for charity Posted: An 11-year-old British schoolgirl has never had her hair cut since birth, and it has grown to an impressive 3ft 6in reaching all the way down to her knees But Aimee Chase, from Portchester, Hampshire, has now decided to have her first proper haircut for charity. She will get just over two feet of it lopped off before she starts at secondary school this September. "I'm going up to senior school and I want to do different things with my hair," the Sun quoted the junior school pupil as saying. "It's going to feel weird because I have had long hair for so long and now it's going to be cut short," she added. The plucky tween will donate her hair to raise money for cancer charities Macmillan Cancer Care and Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research. "At first I just thought that I would get it cut. But with so much hair, I don't want it to go to waste. I'm quite proud of giving it to somebody else who could use it," Chase said. Mum Amanda, 43, added: "People often comment on the length of Aimee's hair. She's known at school as the girl with the long hair. "I keep thinking I am going to get really emotional when she gets it all cut off. I'm quite proud of her for doing it and excited as well," the mom stated.

| British Airways cabin crew under fire for hosting 'topless' parties Posted: British Airways bosses may have to scrap lucrative flights amid growing complaints about cabin crew holding raucous parties at luxury hotels Topless air hostesses and champagne-fuelled pool parties have prompted a flood of protests about wild behaviour. Now BA has warned its captains to control their crews during overnight stops - or the airline may be forced to abandon at least one route. The problem is particularly acute on routes crewed by young recruits - so-called 'mixed fleet' which was at the heart of the recent BA industrial dispute. "Mixed fleet crews are basically kids of 18 and 20 years old, in their first jobs on pretty low pay, who think it's a wonderful life staying in posh hotels," the Daily Mail quoted a BA source as saying. "They pilfer champagne from the aircraft to drink in the crew hotels because buying their own drinks in a five-star hotel is too expensive. "Then they run amok, holding wild room parties and going topless in the pool," the source added. Crews on long-haul flights to the Kenyan capital Nairobi have been told the route could become 'financially unviable' unless they rein in their behaviour. BA flies thousands of passengers a month to Nairobi, and the route is worth millions of pounds. But in an internal memo sent to BA captains recently, a manager warns: "We continue to receive complaints from our management team at our crew hotel in NBO [Nairobi] regarding the behaviour of some of our crews. "In the current security environment, the current hotel is the only approved hotel available to us.
The note asks captains and senior flight attendants to 'sensitively manage pool/room parties and any raucous crew behaviour'.

| Alaska mom faces jail for forcing son to drink hot sauce on TV show Posted: An Alaska mother of six, who allegedly abused her son to get a spot on the 'Dr. Phil' show, could face one year in prison for making her son drink hot sauce as punishment Jessica Beagley, 36, has been found guilty of child abuse for forcing her son to drink hot sauce and take cold showers on a taped segment of the show. A police investigation began after Beagley appeared with Dr. Phil McGraw in November last year in a segment of the show called 'Mommy Confessions', according to court documents. Beagley told Dr. Phil about her difficulty disciplining her 7-year-old son, Kristoff, one of twin boys from Russia who she and her police officer husband adopted when they were 5-years-old. "We've tried a lot of different things to punish the kids," ABC News quoted Beagley as saying on the show. The mom admits to spanking her child and forcing him to do jumping jacks until he's exhausted. During the show, the boy is being punished for getting "three cards pulled," three infractions at school. Prosecutors argued that Beagley performed the abuse to get a spot on the show. But her defence team argued that she came on the show in a desperate move to find ways to help her son.

| US school district apologizes over lesbian and gay sex books Posted: A New Jersey school district has apologized to parents for a required summer reading list for middle and high school students that included books containing graphic depictions of lesbian sex and a homosexual orgy "Some of the language is inappropriate," Fox News quoted Chuck Earling, superintendent of Monroe Township Schools in Williamstown, N.J, as saying. "We were not trying to create controversy. We were just trying to get students to read." The district has now pulled the books off the list, with the start of school just days away. "There were some words and language that seemed to be inappropriate as far as the parents and some of the kids were concerned," Earling said. One book, "Norwegian Wood," featured a lesbian sex scene between a 31-year-old woman and a 13-year-old girl, reports the Gloucester County Times. The other book in question was "Tweak (Growing up on Methamphetamines)," which had the drug use and gay orgy. Earling said the school district's summer reading list was prepared by a committee made up of teachers, librarians and school administrators. The board of education ultimately approved the list. "They read the books," he said. "They didn't feel it was inappropriate based on the language that's used, common language used on the street." The superintendent said students have seen more graphic things on television or in the movies - and noted that only about a dozen people actually complained.

| Man's nose, ears bitten off in Britain Posted: A man in Britain had his nose, ears and lip bitten off after he was attacked outside a nightclub The 31-year old victim had been enjoying a night out with friends when he was assaulted. The incident occurred in Liverpool city centre last Saturday, Daily Mail reported. The reveller lost part of both of his ears, upper lip and part of his nose. Describing CCTV footage of the attack, PC Stuart Moore told Liverpool City Council's licensing committee: "It is horrific, sickening and it is almost barbaric, what takes place." Merseyside Police said the victim, from the Wavertree area of Liverpool, is still recovering at hospital and is expected to undergo reconstructive surgery. Meanwhile, a Laurence Richard McGinn, 28, of Sherry Court, Aigburth, Liverpool, was charged with Section 18 wounding and remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Crown Court November 28. A 27-year-old man from Toxteth, was also arrested in connection with the assault. Heis on police bail pending further inquiries.

| Posted: A woman stripped naked at an airport in Bermuda after being stopped by the customs officers for a routine luggage check, a media report said Wednesday. Loukai Phillips, 36, who had arrived on the island on a flight from London, told the stunned officials: "If you want to see me naked, you can do it right f*****g here." She then removed all her clothes as shocked passengers - including children - looked on in the middle of the airport's busy arrivals hall, Daily Mail reported. Phillips, who is Bermudan but now lives in London, was returning to the island Saturday to sort out personal financial matters. In court Tuesday, she explained that she had reacted angrily after repeatedly being searched whenever she flew home to the mid-Atlantic resort. Phillips pleaded guilty to indecent exposure in a public place but added: "I would never do it again - I'm just tired of being searched." She was handed a 12-month conditional discharge by magistrate Archibald Warner, the Mail said.

| Steve Jobs resigns as Apple CEO Posted: Apple's chief executive officer Steve Jobs Wednesday announced his resignation from the computer technologies giant. "I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple's CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come," Jobs said in his letter of resignation. Jobs, who reigned the company for 14 years, also said that he will be replaced by his long-time companion and acting CEO Tim Cook. Jobs, 56, has been on an indefinite leave since mid-January due to medical reasons. He underwent an operation for pancreatic cancer in 2004 and received a liver transplant in early 2009. Since then he was finding it increasingly difficult to cope with his health and business problems. He co-founded the company in a garage.
