A woman has alleged she was assaulted and raped following an altercation with her neighbours in east Delhi on Sunday, police said, adding that a case had been registered.

The accused have been identified as final year BA student Mangal Singh, a resident of Cheeka village in Kaithal district of Haryana, and first year BA student Balkar Singh of Jind town. They were arrested late on Saturday and nearly 500 grams of heroin were recovered from them.

Kendrapara: Eighteen-year-old girl gang-raped

An eighteen-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped at a sea beach in Orissa's Kendrapara district by a group of wayward youths after tying the victim's male companion to a tree. The incident, according to police sources, took place at Tanda sea beach on Friday evening. "Five youths in an inebriated state sexually assaulted the victim by turn. The male relative was giving her company during a stroll on the beach when the incident took place," said a police official. As the male relative objected to sexual advances towards the girl, they tied him to a tree and physically abused her one after the other, said Pravas Kumar Pal, Inspector of Mahakalpada police station.
