Terrorist plotting World Cup attack nabbed: Malik Posted: A terrorist plotting to target the ongoing cricket World Cup has been arrested, according to Pakistan Interior Minister Rehman Malik, who claimed there was a 'serious attempt' to carry out a terror attack during the tournament. Malik, who did not identify the nationality or the affiliation of the alleged terrorist, made the revelation at a joint briefing with Interpol chief Ronald Noble here, saying that the International Police Organisation had helped to uncover the plot. New Delhi had been informed of the plot, the Pakistan Interior Minister said, as he also claimed that the Taliban had spread its tentacles to India. Malik said there were reports that the Taliban had started their activities in India and that he had warned the neighbouring country's government of this menace. "Let's not forget that terrorists have got no boundary or religion. There are several indications that the Taliban have started their activities in India," Malik said addressing the joint news conference with Noble. He said there was a "serious attempt" at carrying out a terrorist attack during the ongoing cricket tournament and that a terrorist was arrested. He claimed that the arrested man had no connection with Pakistan and information about the incident was being shared with India. Noble too said a possible terrorist attack on the World Cup was averted with Pakistan's help. "Last week, with the help of Pakistan, we identified and arrested the terrorist who had left Karachi... Thanks to the cooperation (of Pakistan) and other countries, we were able to make sure that the World Cup remains safe," he contended. Earlier this month, the Indian government had sounded an alert about possible terror attacks during the World Cup and had said that they had taken measures for the security of the tournament. Talking about the activities of Taliban in India, Malik said, "Let's not forget that terrorists have got no boundary or religion. There are several indications that the Taliban have started their activities in India." "I am saying this on record and I have also informed India. We must work together to stop the work of terrorists," he added. Malik however did not give details of the Taliban's "activities" in India. Noble lauded Pakistan for collecting data on terrorists and announced aid worth two million Euros.
Mum injects 8-yr-old daughter with Botox to make her a superstar Posted: It has emerged that a UK mother regularly injects her eight-year-old daughter with Botox and fillers in a bid to make her a superstar in the future. Once every three months, Kerry Campbell sits her daughter Britney on a beautician's table and injects Botox and fillers into her face, reports the Sun. Beautician Kerry, 34, from Birmingham, buys the substances online and injects them into her daughter's forehead, lips and around her eyes. The beauty-pageant obsessed single mum also takes her to have her body waxed, in a pre-emptive bid to stop her growing hair when she does hit puberty. Kerry said these shocking and potentially dangerous treatments would guarantee Britney becomes famous as a teenager. "What I am doing for Britney now will help her become a star. I know one day she will be a model, actress or singer, and having these treatments now will ensure she stays looking younger and baby-faced for longer," she said. "I'm sure people reading this will think I am being irresponsible, but I ensure that I test the Botox and fillers I buy online on myself first. All I want is for Britney to have the best start in life, so it is easier for her to become a superstar. More mothers should do it for their daughters," she added. Kerry is proud Britney is one of the youngest children in the world to have Botox injections and fillers for beauty purposes. "If I want Britney to be successful, I have to be realistic. She has to start as early as possible," she said. "I give her between 1-2ml of a saline and Botox solution per session. In the past 12 months she has had different parts of her face and lips injected four times. I make her frown before injecting, which helps identify a potential wrinkle. This means we can get it before it even develops," she added. "All this pain and effort now will benefit Britney no end. When she's a superstar earning millions, she'll always be grateful for what I did when she was so young," said Kerry.

Not enough fuel for Japan's dead Posted: Japan has begun burying some earthquake victims in temporary mass graves because it does not have enough fuel for traditional cremations. With supplies of fuel dwindling, officials have abandoned cremation in favour of quick, simple burials in a show of pragmatism over tradition. Relatives cry over the coffin of their loved one who was killed in the tsunami-earthquake disaster during a mass burial at a cemetery in Onagawa, Miyagi prefecture, yesterday Some are buried in bare plywood caskets and others in blue plastic bags, with no time to build proper coffins. The bodies will be dug up and cremated later, officials assured the families. In Higashimatsushima in Miyagi prefecture, soldiers lowered bare plywood coffins into the ground, saluting each casket, as families watched from a distance and helicopters occasionally clattered overhead. The city government said up to 1,000 bodies could be laid to rest at the site. Burial is unusual in Japan, where 99.9 per cent of bodies are cremated. Cremation requires 50 litres of kerosene for a single corpse, and there is not enough available at present. Many areas had banned burials because of public health concerns, but now mass graves will be created across the north-east of Japan. Some relatives put flowers on the graves. Most remained stoic, folding hands in prayer. Two young girls wept inconsolably, hugged tightly by their father. "I hope their spirits will rest in peace here at this temporary place," said Katsuko Oguni.

Woman, 92, shoots neighbour's house after he refused to kiss her Posted: A woman in Florida has been charged for shooting her neighbour's house after he refused to give her a kiss. Helen B Staudinger, 92, was accused by her neighbour Dwight Bettner, 52, of firing four shots at his Fort McCoy home when he refused her advances. But she says that her relationship with him soured because of his 'lies' and that he was not 'paying his way' when they dined out. At the Marion County Jail Judge Sarah Ritteroff Williams told Staudinger that even if she posts the 15,000 dollar bail for charges of aggravated assault with a firearm and shooting into an occupied dwelling and gets out of jail, she still is forbidden to have any contact with Bettner. The judge also warned Staudinger that if Bettner's residence is within 500 feet of her home, she is not allowed to return home. And, the judge added she is not allowed to possess any firearms or ammunition. "I feel pretty good," Ocala.com quoted Bettner as saying upon hearing the news of the restrictions placed on his neighbour. He said Staudinger once cooked dinner or breakfast for him and he gave her a kiss on the cheek just "trying to be nice to her." "I've got a girlfriend of my own," he said, adding that he has repeatedly ignored the woman's advances. But according to the Star-Banner, Staudinger said that the reason she went to Bettner's home was because he owed her money from the times they went out to eat. "The more I thought about it, the madder I got," she said. She denied asking for a kiss before leaving, but she did say the weapon belonged to her.
