Investor's Business Daily - The maker of iPhone and iPad has applied for a patent for a security program to monitor use of its devices, one that could enable it to identify "suspicious behavior," such as iPhones modified with unauthorized software, and disable them, according to CNET.com. In July, the U.S. Copyright Office said loading non-Apple software onto iPhones, a practice known as "jailbreaking," was not illegal, although Apple (NMS:AAPL) warns doing so voids its warranty. Apple declined to comment on the report. It fell 1.5% to 245.80.

In recent years, telecoms focused on promoting one-price plans featuring unlimited talk time and texting as rivals vied to grab market share. But just like price wars, the relatively low-cost all-in-one plans eroded profit margins. Some carriers, such as AT&T , already have begun eliminating unlimited data plans.

PC World - It’s not everyday that you see seven electronic devices connected to a sequencer, but Steven Litt of Crudlabs has discovered a cheap way to create a less traditional electronic sounds. Litt created Crudbox using a 16-step, 8-channel step sequencer.
