The death toll in Tuesday's train mishap in Uttar Pradesh has gone up to 18 as four people, who were injured, died in a hospital on Wednesday morning. Fourteen young men, travelling atop the Himgiri Express, were killed when they were hit by an overbridge near Shahjahanpur on Tuesday. A man attempted suicide late Tuesday night after allegedly being harassed by the Sewri police for not paying hafta for his Chinese food stall. Killer gunned down in Bangalore was an IIT graduate

M Nagendra Reddy (30), an IIT Madras graduate involved in five murders including one in London, was gunned down in Bangalore yesterday. Reddy committed his first murder to impress a friend in London, before killing a friend for his sister and a third to escape from police custody. The police suspect that the last two murders were for money.
