The strong quake was centered 115 km north-northeast of Mount Hagen, at a depth of 77 kilometers, the USGS said. Papua New Guinea is on the geologically active Pacific Ring of Fire. The new agents have been drawn from across Mexico and have all passed psychological and drug tests, regional federal police chief Luis Cardenas said at a news conference.
